New Motto

I am excited to move (ok, I am not excited to pack and unpack).  I am excited to purge our house of all the clutter that we have accumulated over time.  My new motto is:

“Have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”
                                           - William Morris

I am going to use the next month to clean out everything that doesn't meet this criteria (extra bonus: this fits in nicely with my current desire to nest).   I am hoping this will create a more cohesive and organized space.  I am picturing a home where everything has its place (not that it will always been in that place, but that it has a place is enough for me for  now).

I am back

Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.   I have missed you.

Now that we got that out of the way. We are T - minus 6 days until we close on our new home and I need a place to start putting my thoughts down.  So I am back.  And things are about to get all homey up in here (if that isn't your bag, don't come back for a while)(ok, I will admit it there will be Oliver pics as well).

Just to get everyone on the same page since the last time I posted:

  1. I am pregnant (again) and we are having boy (again)
  2. We are moving from the city to the burbs or from our smallish condo (it never seemed small until Oliver came along with this crazy amount of stuff) to a good sized house (more details on the house to come in following posts)
  3. We are down 1 dog.  Sad, but for the best.
  4. I am transitioning into a new role at work . . . so that has its challenges.
OK, those are the big things.

Thoughts

1.  I am still wearing a maternity sweater. :( Not because I have too, but because I like it and it is comfortable.

2.  Speaking of maternity, I accidently tried on a pair of maternity minni pants on Jcrew over the weekend.  They were super comfortable . . . I almost bought them.

3.  Jason, Oliver, and I have breakfast at the same spot every Sunday and head to the park across the street with O after.  Family tradition.  Our waitress told me that she didn't even recognize me with my hair down.  Meaning, I haven't wore my hair down in the 6 months worth of Sundays we have been going there.

4.  Related, while at the hair salon on Saturday (which is the only reason, my hair was down on Sunday), my stylist told me I am getting a line in my hair from wearing my hair up too much.

5.  After reading about how Julianne Moore only buys things that are black, white, gray, green and purple, I have decided to edit my life to only 5 colors - black, white, gray, green, and blue. I am only buying clothes in those shades. . .   I am hoping this will make everything in my life coordinate easier.

6.  In searching for a new home, I have realized that my budget does not match my taste.  Depressing.

7.  I can't believe my baby is going to be 1 in just a 11 days.  :(

8.   All my watches are without working batteries, I am wearing them anyways.

9.   I am currently playing chicken with a dying car battery . . . I have a feeling this is going to end badly for me.

10.  Oliver loves clapping so much that when he wakes up from his nap his starts clapping in his crib.   Man I love this kid.
